The Garrotxa region is located in the northeast of Catalonia, between Alt Empordà and Ripollès. The region is divided into the Upper Garrotxa and the Lower Garrotxa.
The Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park is the best example of a volcanic landscape in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the most important in Europe. You can find about thirty-eight volcanic cones within the 12,000 hectares of the park.
La Garrotxa is a land of nature, a variety of vegetation and an extraordinary fauna.
The region also stands out for its great cultural offerings such as Romanesque churches, medieval towns and modernist buildings, among others.
